Fire Safety with Third Grade

Ms. King’s 3rd grade students participated in a fire safety presentation sponsored by the South Metro Fire Rescue Authority.  Colleen Potton, Life Safety Educator, shared information with students about the importance of creating a fire escape plan, practicing the escape route, and designating a meeting place outside the home to make sure everyone has made it out safely.  Children, aged 12 and below have the opportunity for free ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery once their family has created a plan, practiced the plan, taken a photo at the designated meeting spot, and emailed the photo to Colleen.  Colleen provided instructions to all students.  Thanks to all students for participating.  They were an excellent audience! All third graders at TTE will have the chance to hear Colleen's presentation.

Jump Rope For Heart at TTE- Update

Students at TTE have been jumping rope to raise money for the American Heart Association.  To date, students at TTE have raised over $3000!

Our grade level events have been very successful and fun for the students.  This week and next, our K-3 events will take place, and we can't wait to see the enthusiasm this young group of jumpers will bring to the gym!

It's nice to see all the students wearing their "thank you" ducks and lanyards on our Duck Fridays. Thank you to Mrs. Petrosky for organizing, sorting and delivering ducks to teacher mailboxes.

Thank you to Mrs. Halvas for sharing her personal story to all of our students during our jump roping events.  Your message is important for our students to hear!

Jump Rope For Heart

As part of the Timber Trail WOLF theme "community", the Specials’ Team is working with the American Heart Association to raise money during their annual fundraising event, Jump Rope For Heart.  The money raised helps support cardiovascular research and helps teach students the importance of developing heart-healthy habits.

Our kick off event is this Friday, Jan. 9, during Specials.

Students will receive an information letter for parents and a collection packet.

All students will Jump Rope For Heart during WOLF time:

5th Grade January 22
4th Grade January 27
3rd Grade January 29
2nd Grade February 3
1st Grade February 5
Kindies February 10

As an incentive, the class that raises the most money will have a celebration day in the gym with all Specials teachers from 2:50-3:20 on February 20th.
